Jackson's Bank

The ancient forests are part of The National Forest and have stunning scenery and great walking. There has been a public house on the site of the Meynell Ingram Arms since the 12th century and parts of the present building date from the 14th century. It is a traditional country inn, one of the few remaining which had not been ‘modernised’.

Hoar Cross Hall GalleryHoar Cross Hall was formerly the seat of the Meynell Family. The present day hall replaced an earlier one, which is now a nursing home. Today, the hall has been developed into a luxurious hotel and health spa.

A little way from the village crossroads, towards Newchurch, is Jackson’s Bank a beautiful area of woodland of 81 acres open to the public for walking and horse riding. The way-marked walks vary in length from 45 minutes to two hours.
