Dunstall
This small and attractive village, with but a handful of cottages, two or three farms and a mid-Victorian church, lies just to the north of Barton-under-Needwood. The majority of the Parish comprises the wooded estate of Dunstall Hall.

If, however, you are ever invited over to Dunstall to have a quiet drink at the White Lion beware, for this is a question beloved of those who like to indulge in a practical joke. The White Lion is not a pub but a drinking fountain erected to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Jubilee; in fact it was the village’s only public supply of drinking water to as recently as 1954.
