Sharpe's Pottery Museum
Sharpe’s Pottery Museum is housed in the sympathetically restored 19th century pottery works in the heart of Swadlincote. The building’s focal point is the beautiful kiln hovel which is unique due to its domed, capped roof. It is not only visually stunning but also acoustically interesting and is a great place for concerts.
Numerous special events are hosted at the museum including: lecture brunches, antique valuation days, concerts in the kiln and temporary exhibition programme.
Groups can be catered for and there is an informative talk and tour that can be pre-booked. The museum is family friendly with free craft activities for children.
The kiln and conference room are available to hire for social and business occasions. The gift shop showcases local artists’ works and handcrafted items.
Entrance is free and fully accessible.
The museum also houses a tourist information centre and coffee shop.
