Redfern's Cottage: Museum of Uttoxeter Life

A beautiful, early 17th century, timber-framed town house situated in the historic market town of Uttoxeter. The museum includes period room settings from different eras as well as fascinating displays and information about the town and its notable characters. The gift shop is stocked with locally hand-crafted and fair-trade products, local history books and pocket money souvenirs and facilities include a courtyard garden with picnic area and well-maintained toilets.

Situated on historic Carter Street where there is plenty of parking (on street or at the White Hart Hotel), you can also pop in to the many independent shops, café-gallery or White Hart restaurant for a full afternoons visit.

Getting here and parking

By Road

From the M6 - exit at junction 15 and join the A500 following the signs for joining the A50 and then following signs for Uttoxeter.

From the M1 Northbound - exit at junction 24/24a and join the A50 following the signs for Uttoxeter.

From the M1 Southbound – exit at junction 35 and join A52 to Derby, follow signs for A38 and join it at Derby, follow A38 and exit onto A50 at junction 4
