New Venue to Bring Traditional Baking to the Heart of Burton
Thursday January 26
TRADITIONAL baking is set to return to the heart of Burton with Helen’s Bake House and Tearoom set to open the doors of its new market place venue in February.
The new business venture is the life-long dream of local business woman Helen Wheat, who has been baking commercially for over a decade and successfully selling her produce at Burton Outdoor Market, and other retail outlets across the region.
The market place venue is currently undergoing a complete renovation in preparation for the launch. Fulfilling Helen’s passion for high quality produce, at the heart of the bake house will be an open working kitchen where customers can view highly skilled bakers handcrafting quality baked produce.
Helen will continue to provide her popular range of fresh handmade cakes and pastries, such as Bakewell Tarts and Eccles Cakes, and a speciality range of sugar free cakes, alongside a bespoke celebration cake service. There will also be a ‘new’ range of delicious meat pies, including Steak and Ale (Marston’s Pedigree), Chicken and Mushroom, Steak and Kidney and Minced Beef with Vegetable. The new tea room will offer customers a warm and welcoming ambience in a vintage style setting.
Commenting on her new business venture and passion for baking, Helen Wheat said:
“We are extremely excited to be launching our first ever Bake House. I love baking and so do all of my colleagues. We have a real passion for providing good, honest, high quality products and we are looking forward to sharing the craft of baking from our open working kitchen.
“People will be able to see our fantastic range of celebration cakes taking shape and customer’s will be able to order bespoke designs to suit their requirements, whether it is traditional icing and flowers or an edible photograph design, the possibilities are endless.
“I have been baking commercially for 14 years and I’m really looking forward to welcoming existing loyal customers and hopefully many new ones to our warm and friendly traditional bake house.”
