The National Forest is one of Britain's boldest environmental projects, creating a Forest for the nation across 200 square miles and embracing parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire.  Nearly eight million trees have already been planted and ultimately 30 million trees will create stunning landscapes and wildlife habitats.

The National Forest includes a significant area within East Staffordshire, and Burton upon Trent is the “capital” of the National Forest.
