The Blue Cross Rolleston Equine Welfare Centre

The Blue Cross Centre at Rolleston takes in needy horses & ponies through a variety of circumstances, ranging from abuse or neglect to owner's illness or financial difficulties. At the centre the horses are rehabilitated back to full health and undertake an individual retraining programme. They are then re-homed on a monitored loan scheme.

The 65 acre site accommodates around 55 horses at any one time, all undertaking a rehabilitation programme in preparation for rehoming. Centre facilities include various types of equine housing and turn out, enabling us to meet the horse's individual needs.

The centre holds a variety of events throughout the year including various fundraising activities, education events as well as talks and group tours.

We welcome visitors to the centre to come and meet the horses & ponies in our care and to find out more about the rehabilitation work we carry out.
